BAKERY MANAGER

Holiday Market, an award-winning, family owned gourmet grocery store, is looking for a Bakery Manager to manage its first-class Bakery Department, voted “Best Place to Buy a Cake” by Hour Magazine 5 years in a row.

The ideal candidate will have extensive front of house and back of house overseeing operations and staffing for the entire bakery. Holiday Market bakery manager will have thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes and help to implement the Holiday Market culture to all 50+ bakery employees. Must be creative, independent, delegate and hold high standards.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee operations and staffing for the entire bakery department within Holiday Market.
  • Manages all areas in the kitchen including pastry making, baking of product, as well as cake decorating.
  • Manages entire counter service staff making sure they are upholding the high customer service standards Holiday Market stands by.
  • Quality control of all product and services within the bakery that will be purchased by consumers.
  • Develops, monitors as well as suggests changes to pricing.
  • In charge of making weekly schedules for all bakery employees.
  • Keep food costs and labor costs in budget.
  • Orders all food product supplies.
  • Responsible for department training program.
  • Monitoring entire bakery staff daily production and flow.
  • Makes day-to-day decisions for entire department to keep it running as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
  • Must be willing to step into any role within the bakery at any given time where help is needed.
  • In charge of and oversees all maintenance needed to any equipment in the bakery.
  • Manages all customer service complaints and problems.

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • At least 3 years’ experience as a bakery manager.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

BAGGER

Position Description: Flexible hours. Baggers are responsible for providing excellent customer service, bagging groceries, and perform daily chores. Must be able to bag groceries to Holiday Market standards, work well with others, be able to take direction without hesitation, and work well in a fast paced environment. Job responsibilities for baggers include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Bag groceries
  • Get carts & take hand baskets back
  • Closing chores such as bathrooms, trash, break room, bags
  • Take care of back stock
  • Sweep between registers and other areas of the store
  • Standing for long periods of time without breaks
  • Be able to lift 15+ pounds
  • Help customers out to their car

 

Experience: No experience necessary

Job Type: Part-time (must be 14+, work permit required 14-17)/Full-time* (must be 18+)

CASHIER

Position Description: Flexible hours. Cashiers are the last stop for our customers when checking out. We expect our cashiers to greet our customers and provide them with excellent customer service while ringing their groceries. Cashiers must be able to bag groceries to Holiday Market standards when needed/when a Bagger is unavailable, work well with others, and be able to work well in a fast paced environment. Job responsibilities for cashiers include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ring groceries
  • Bag groceries
  • Maintaining a clean work environment including cleaning the register belt
  • Able to lift 15+ pounds

 

Experience: 1-2 years of customer service experience required

Job Type: Part-time/Full-time* – All cashiers must be 18+

COUNTER ASSOCIATE

Position Description: Counter associates are responsible for providing excellent customer service by quickly and accurately responding to their questions and/or concerns. A counter associate avoids distractions and keeps an eye on the counter at all times. When a customer is approaching they must acknowledge and help them ASAP. Job responsibilities for counter associates include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Comfortable speaking with customers
  • Works with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Works well with others
  • Setting a tare weight on scale
  • Stand on feet for 8+ hours, with or without breaks
  • Able to work open, close, mid-shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Able to lift items that weigh over 25 pounds

 

Experience: 1-2 years of customer service experience required

PIZZA PREP

Position Description: Holiday Market is looking to hire a pizza prep who is friendly, hardworking, punctual and able to take direction. This person would need to be willing to work with dough as well other as savory ingredients. Their main responsibilities would be to prep pizza dough and toppings and maintaining a clean and efficient line/work space. A successful candidate would be ready and willing to learn and work to achieve our goals with the program and ultimately grow with the program as it expands.
